Testing task: Operate an unchecked checkbox in reading mode

With JAWS in reading mode, describe how JAWS behaves when performing task "Partially check the first checkbox."

Test instructions

  1. Restore default settings for JAWS. For help, read Configuring Screen Readers for Testing.
  2. Activate the "Open test page" button below, which opens the example to test in a new window and runs a script that sets focus on the first checkbox and sets its state to unchecked.
  3. Verify the Virtual Cursor is active by pressing Alt+Delete. If it is not, turn on the Virtual Cursor by pressing Insert+Z.
  4. Partially check the first checkbox.
  5. Using the following commands, Partially check the first checkbox.
    • Space

Success Criteria

To pass this test, JAWS needs to meet all the following assertions when each specified command is executed:

  1. Change in state (to partially checked) is conveyed
