Testing task: Navigate from a dropdown to a collapsed disclosure button in interaction mode

With JAWS in interaction mode, describe how JAWS behaves when performing task "With focus on a link in the first dropdown, close the dropdown and return focus to the associated disclosure button."

Test instructions

  1. Restore default settings for JAWS. For help, read Configuring Screen Readers for Testing.
  2. Activate the "Open test page" button below, which opens the example to test in a new window and runs a script that sets the state of the first disclosure button to expanded, and sets focus on the first link of the associated dropdown.
  3. Verify the PC Cursor is active by pressing Alt+Delete. If it is not, turn off the Virtual Cursor by pressing Insert+Z.
  4. With focus on a link in the first dropdown, close the dropdown and return focus to the associated disclosure button.
  5. Using the following commands, With focus on a link in the first dropdown, close the dropdown and return focus to the associated disclosure button.
    • Escape

Success Criteria

To pass this test, JAWS needs to meet all the following assertions when each specified command is executed:

  1. Role 'button' is conveyed
  2. Name 'About' is conveyed
  3. State of the button (collapsed) is conveyed
