Testing task: Navigate forwards to a link in a dropdown in reading mode

With JAWS in reading mode, describe how JAWS behaves when performing task "With the reading cursor on a link in the first dropdown, navigate to the next link."

Test instructions

  1. Restore default settings for JAWS. For help, read Configuring Screen Readers for Testing.
  2. Activate the "Open test page" button below, which opens the example to test in a new window and runs a script that sets the state of the first disclosure button to expanded, and sets focus on the first link of the associated dropdown.
  3. Verify the Virtual Cursor is active by pressing Alt+Delete. If it is not, turn on the Virtual Cursor by pressing Insert+Z.
  4. With the reading cursor on a link in the first dropdown, navigate to the next link.
  5. Using the following commands, With the reading cursor on a link in the first dropdown, navigate to the next link.
    • U
    • Down Arrow
    • Tab

Success Criteria

To pass this test, JAWS needs to meet all the following assertions when each specified command is executed:

  1. Role 'link' is conveyed
  2. Name 'Administration' is conveyed
